Special Children, Inc. provides adoption services for independent adoptions where the birth parents and adoptive family meet outside of agency involvement. Special Children, Inc. provides home studies, birth parent counseling, foster care licensing, and post placement services until the adoption is final. Special Children, Inc. also refers the family to legal sources who will help process the adoption.
Special Children, Inc. networks with a number of U.S. agencies for the placement of Caucasian, Hispanic, and African-American infants and children. Because these programs are based in other states, families usually travel to the sending state to receive the child when the child is just days old. After receiving ICPC approval, the adoptive family may return to Wisconsin with their child. The adoption is finalized 6 months later, either in the sending state or in Wisconsin.
| We seek families who are committed to raising children in a loving environment and providing a nurturing atmosphere that will help the child reach his/her full potential. |
